60th anniversary of the March on Washington
Filmmaker and anti-gun violence activist Mario van Peebles hugs a family member of Ronald Greene during a demonstration marking the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Greene, who was unarmed, was killed by Louisiana State Troopers in 2019. The event was hosted by National Action Network and the Drum Major Institute to both commemorate the 1963 march and call for continued work toward racial equality in the United States.
