The woman was being transferred to the delivery room when she showed symptoms of amniotic fluid embolism (AFE), a condition in which amniotic fluid enters the mother's bloodstream, triggering a fatal reaction. She was immediately sent to the emergency room. After nearly 27 hours of rescue by over 30 medical workers, the mother was out of danger.
