The Egyptian Council of Ministers refuted the imposition of new fees on tourists entering Egypt, other than the applicable visa fees for certain countries.
It clarified that the decision to levy a fee of 1,000 U.S. dollars was irrelevant to tourists visiting Egypt for tourism purposes, but rather pertained to the controls of legalization and reconciliation of conditions for foreigners residing illegally in Egypt.
