The earthquake of magnitude 6.8 on the open Richter scale shook the country on the night of September 8 and the number of victims it has caused, according to the count carried out until 15.00 local time (GMT 1), is 2,681 dead and 2,501 injured, according to a note from the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior. It is not ruled out that the number of victims will increase due to the high number of injured and the search for more possible victims in the rubble. The province of Al Hauz is the most affected by the earthquake, which is already considered the deadliest natural disaster recorded in Morocco in recent decades.
