The journalists from 17 media agencies started their journey Wednesday in the regional capital Urumqi. The eight-day tour covers various other cities, including Turpan, Yining, Kashgar, and Horgos. By visiting museums, companies, schools, economic areas and tourist spots, the journalists will get a closer look at the social landscape in Xinjiang and get an all-round understanding of Xinjiang's achievements in building the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
