This research, conducted by the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (Turk-Is), showed that the food budget for a family of four to sustain a healthy and balanced diet has now surpassed 13,000 Turkish liras (around 474 U.S. dollars). Turk-Is attributes the surge in food prices to inadequate production and rising agricultural input costs. Furthermore, the report noted that the living cost for a single worker, including rent, transportation, education, and food, reached 17,300 liras in September, well above the 11,400 lira
