France Bans All Pro-Palestinian Protests - Strasbourg
Protesters participate in an unauthorized demonstration in solidarity with Palestine in Strasbourg, Northeastern France, on October 13, 2023, amid the recent military escalation between Hamas militants and the Israeli army around the Gaza Strip. France on Thursday banned pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the country, as conflict between Israel and Palestinian group Hamas continues. Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, through a directive he sent to provincial authorities, ordered a ban on all pro-Palestinian rallies and arrest of their organizers. He said such rallies could disturb public order. Strasbourg's central square was closed and marked with police tape, but the demonstration went ahead.
