(231017) -- BEIRUT, Oct. 17, 2023 (Xinhua) -- This photo taken on Oct. 15, 2023 shows smoke rising following Israeli attacks near the Lebanese town of Alma al-Shaab. Lebanon's Hezbollah military group announced on Sunday that it has bombed several Israeli border sites and settlements, as sporadic fire across the Lebanese-Israeli border continues.
In response to Hezbollah's attacks, the Israeli artillery bombed with over 50 shells the towns of Mays al-Jabal, Hula, Aita al-Shaab, Marwahin, and al-Qalila, causing damage to 12 homes in the Qalila village, according to Lebanese military sources.
On the same day, Andrea Tenenti, spokesperson of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that the exchange of fire between Lebanon and Israel intensified in the evening along the Blue Line, and a missile fell on the headquarters of the UNIFIL in Naqoura.
