Royals Visit The Area Affected Fire Tenerife - Canary islands

The King and Queen of Spain, Felipe VI (4l) and Doña Letizia (5l), together with the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo (3l), visit the mayors of the municipalities affected by the forest fire, at the Mirador de Chipeque, on October 24, 2023, in Santa Ursula, Tenerife, Canary Islands (Spain). During their visit to the island, they learned about the impact of the forest fire that has been raging on the island since mid-August -- it has not been extinguished and there are reactivations -- and which affected more than 14,000 hectares in a perimeter of 90 kilometers across 12 municipalities.Later, they will travel to Arafo, the municipality where the fire started, to hold a meeting at the Cultural and Recreational Association, and in the afternoon they will attend a ceremony honoring the crews, personnel, groups and corporations that have intervened in the fire.
