WPI inflation, an indicator of prices in the wholesale market rises or falls mainly due to steep increases or decreases in commodity prices. WPI-based inflation rate has been in the negative zone for the seventh month since April in the South Asian country. WPI food inflation decreased from 1.54 percent in September to 1.07 percent in October. The index for the manufactured products group in October remained at 140.3 (provisional), the same as in September.
