Javier Milei Sworn In As Argentina's New President

Argentina's President Javier Milei gives a speech to his supporters after his inauguration as President-elect, in front of the Congress of Buenos Aires, on December 10, 2023, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Milei was sworn in today as president-elect. For the first time, the delivery of the attributes has been in the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress, not in the Casa Rosada, as has been the tradition. Last Wednesday, Milei presented his new government, which has been reduced from 18 ministries to only 8. The inauguration ceremony in Buenos Aires is bringing together a diverse handful of world leaders, including Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky and Hungary's nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban – the only EU leader who has maintained close ties to the Kremlin.
