Acolman, Mexico, on december 11,2023, The Birthplace Of The Traditional Christmas Pinata. It Was Here, In The Convent Of San Agustin Where This Representative Insignia Of The Christmas Celebrations In Mexico Originated. It Is Said That The Pinata Was Made As A Form Of Evangelization By Fray Diego De Soria At The End Of The 16th Century, Giving A Peculiar Meaning To Each Part Of The Pinata; The Seven Peaks Signify The Seven Deadly Sins, While The Striking Colors With Which Each Piece Is Adorned Represent Temptation. He Was Blindfolded To Represent That Faith Is Blind And By Breaking The Pinata, The Triumph Of This Faith Is Symbolized. The Making Of Pinatas In Acolman Is A Popular Activity That Is Inherited Through Generations. The Ortiz Zacarias Family Has Been Making Pinatas With A Traditional Technique For More Than 30 Years.
