The cartoon contest was themed on the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR), officially named WHOOSH. The event, launched on Nov. 6, was supported by PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC), a joint venture consortium that constructs and runs the HSR, the Indonesian Cartoonist Federation, and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia. A total of 296 painters from 40 countries took part in the competition, and the organizers received 424 cartoon works and 97 comic works.
