Girls And Boys Deliver Letters To "Wise Men" In Mexico City

Dozens of families, accompanied by their daughters and sons, are visiting the facilities of the Postal Palace in the Zocalo of Mexico City to write and deliver letters to the Three Wise Men: Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthasar. They believe that they will receive a response from the Star of Bethlehem, which will be delivered to their homes by the Mexican Postal Service. According to belief, the Gospel of Saint Matthew mentions that some ''wise men'' from the East were guided by a star to worship the newborn king of the Jews. The names Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthasar first appeared in the famous 6th-century mosaic in the Basilica of Saint Apollinaris the New in the Italian city of Ravenna.
