Royals At Military Easter - Madrid

Princess Leonor (2l), King Felipe VI (4l), Queen Letizia (4r), Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez (3r), Defense Minister Margarita Robles (2r) and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska (1r) during Military Easter at the Royal Palace, Jan. 6, 2024, in Madrid, Spain. This is the first time that Princess Leonor attends the Military Easter ceremony, and she does so in her dress uniform as a cadet at the General Military Academy (AGM) in Zaragoza. During the ceremony, honors are paid with the national anthem and a 21-gun salute, and King Felipe VI passes review. Afterwards, military decorations are awarded to those civilians and members of the Armed Forces who have received them during the past year. The Military Easter is a ceremony that celebrates the recovery of the Menorcan town of Mahón on January 6, 1782, which was in the hands of the English, during which a balance of the vicissitudes of the previous year is made and the lines of action to be developed in the following year are marked.
