Arkadas, the rescue dog donated by Turkey to Mexico, is standing with his handler at Campo Marte in Mexico City, on the occasion of his first birthday celebration. He is there to honor the memory of Proteo, a Mexican rescue dog who passed away after assisting in the search for survivors following the devastating earthquake near the Syrian border in February, which resulted in at least 54,000 deaths across both nations.
