Chicago police are processing a crime scene that occurred in the 300 block of E. 79th Street in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on January 10, 2024. On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at approximately 10:16 pm CT, a 43-year-old male employee of a convenience store was in an alley when he was approached by a male suspect who attempted to rob him. The offender fired shots during the incident, striking the victim in the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and Chicago police are saying that no one is in custody.
