Nepal's Red God Returns Back To Patan

A Nepali Hindu devotee is blowing a traditional Newa musical instrument as he leads the Rain God Rato Macchindranath to Macchindra Bahal in Patan from Bungmati, the ancient city of Lalitpur. This follows the tradition of the god residing in Bungmati for half of the year and in Patan for the other half. After the completion of Nepal's longest chariot festival of Rato Macchindranath, the lord of rain and harvest, the idol is taken to Bungmati to rest and is then brought back to Patan.
