Tamal Fair In Mexico City
Vendors are selling goods at the Tamal Fair in the Iztapalapa mayor's office in Mexico City, on the occasion of Candlemas Day, which is celebrating the end of the Christmas festivities within the Catholic Church.
The celebration is also connected to the tradition of the Festival of Candles in Tenerife, Spain, which originated from the tale of the Virgin Mary's apparition in the 14th century. According to the Catholic faith, this day signifies the purification of the Virgin Mary, the end of her quarantine after childbirth, and the presentation of the Child Jesus in the church.
