The Two Freed MPs Not Allowed Into The Polish Parliament

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the leader of the Law and Justice party (R), and Mariusz Kaminski (C) are standing in front of the Polish Parliament. Mariusz Kaminski and Michal Wasik, former Interior Ministers, accompanied by prominent Law and Justice MPs, are trying to enter the Parliament despite having lost their parliamentary seats due to a two-year jail sentence for abuse of power in 2007 when they were heads of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBA). Under the law, individuals with a final conviction cannot hold a seat in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, even if they have been pardoned by the President of the Republic of Poland. Mariusz Kaminski and Michal Wasik have left prison after being pardoned for the second time by President Andrzej Duda. This is taking place in Warsaw, Poland, on February 7, 2024.
