An Iranian family is visiting the holy mosque of Jamkaran on the outskirts of the holy city of Qom, 145 km (90 miles) south of Tehran, on February 8, 2024. Qom is known as the religious capital of Iran and was instrumental in the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The city has become a center for political struggle due to the presence of the Qom Seminary and sources of emulation, particularly during the opposition to the Pahlavi regime.
