A general view is being captured of the Chinese Lunar New Year parade taking place in Chinatown, New York, on February 25, 2024. The parade, one of the biggest spectacles in New York's Chinatown and also known as the Lunar New Year, celebrates the beginning of spring based on the lunar cycle, and this year it is honoring the Year of the Dragon.
Dragons are playing a starring role at the Lunar New Year parade in Manhattan's historic Chinatown today, as it is the Year of the Dragon. Hundreds of revelers are filling the cold, clear air with the sounds of drums, cymbals, and bursts of confetti. (Photo by Deccio Serrano/NurPhoto)
