France Makes Abortion A Constitutional Right - Paris

People gather near the Eiffel Tower at the Place du Trocadero in Paris, France on March 4, 2024, during the broadcasting of the convocation of both houses of parliament to anchor the right of abortion in the country's constitution. France has become the first country in the world to explicitly include the right to abortion in its constitution. Parliamentarians voted to revise the country's 1958 constitution to enshrine women's "guaranteed freedom" to abort.
