Russia's incumbent President Vladimir Putin has secured a landslide victory in the country's presidential election with over 87 percent of the vote after all ballots were counted, according to the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) on Monday.
Putin won the election with 87.28 percent of the votes, data from the CEC showed, after all ballots had been counted Monday afternoon.
The Communist Party's candidate Nikolai Kharitonov came in second place with 4.31 percent, while the New People Party's representative Vladislav Davankov secured 3.85 percent of the vote. Head of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky ranked fourth with 3.2 percent.
