Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Monday reviewed an initiative to reduce the prices of poultry and eggs by a rate ranging from 10 percent to 15 percent.
Egyptian minister of agriculture and land reclamation explained that this initiative comes in response to the directives of the political leadership, as well as the government's initiatives and efforts to reduce commodity prices.
As a result of this initiative starting Tuesday, the price of a kilogram of chickens on the farm is set to be 85 Egyptian pounds, and the price of a carton of table eggs to be 135 pounds.
The minister confirmed that, in light of these announced prices, the price to the consumer will be a maximum of 95 pounds for poultry, and 145 pounds for eggs.
