Japan: Tsunami Warning Issued For Okinawa After Strong Earthquake Hits Taiwan 3
A strong earthquake struck off the coast of Taiwan, 18km south-southeast of Hualien City, on Wednesday morning, April 3.
According to USGS, it was an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) urged residents around Okinawa Island, Miyakojima Island, and Yaeyama Island to evacuate immediately, warning of high waves up to 3 meters (9.8 ft).
This video shows a tsunami warning being announced in Japanese and English near the U.S. military base in Chatan, Okinawa.
