Green Parrots Hanging From Tree - India
Illustration of a pair of green parrots, known as the alexandrine parakeet, hanging from a tree branch on outskirts village of Ajmer, Rajahstan, India on April, 10 2024. The Alexandrine parakeet, scientifically referred to as Psittacula eupatria and commonly known as the Alexandrine parrot, is a moderate-sized member of the Psittacula genus within the Psittaculidae family. Originating from South Asia and Southeast Asia, it owes its name to Alexander the Great. This designation comes from Alexander's endeavor of bringing numerous birds from Punjab to different parts of Europe and the Mediterranean, where they gained esteem among royalty, nobility, and warlords.
