Columbia University Calls For Arrests Of Scores Of Pro-Palestine Students
Pro-Palestine and Pro-Israel demonstrators are protesting outside the locked gates of the Columbia University campus in New York City, USA, on April 18, 2024. Earlier in the day, Columbia University President Minouche Shafik called the NYPD onto the college campus to arrest scores of pro-Palestine students who were refusing to dismantle protest encampments on the main campus quad. The standoff and arrests are taking place one day after President Shafik faced questions before Congress regarding campus antisemitism and the enforcement of rules against protests. The demonstrators are demanding divestment from Israel amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza War. (Photo by Melissa Bender/NurPhoto)
