This could help prevent complications such as cirrhosis and liver cancer, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said. According to the center's latest estimate, around 3.6 million people in 30 countries in the EU/European Economic Area (EEA) are chronically infected with hepatitis B.
