Genocide Remembrance Day - Yerevan
Armenians march during the annual march on the day of the Genocide Remembrance Day beginning at Republic Square and ending at the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial on Thursday, April 24, 2024. The Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day is a public holiday and observed on April 24th each year to commemorate the victims of the Armenian genocide between 1915 to 1923. On the night of April 23rd a torch march of tens of thousands of people walk to the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial in Yerevan to lay flowers at the eternal flame, this is continued all day on April 24th. Memorial Day is observed in Armenia, the state of California, Canada, France, and Argentina. It is estimated that between 600,000 to 1.5 million Armenians died as a result.
