Iranian Rapper’s Death Sentence Sparks Protest - Berlin
Kosar Eftekhari, an Iranian student blinded by the Iranian police in Iran, participates in a rally against a death sentence given to Toomaj Salehi, a popular Iranian rapper after he was accused of singing pro-women led protests in Berlin, Germany on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Salehi’s lawyer confirmed the sentence and wrote on X (formerly 'Twitter') that they hope the appeal court will reduce the hefty sentence, and the harsh court ruling has inspired rallies across the different cities in the world in solidarity with Salehi.
