Iran-Daily Life In Iran’s First Ever Nuclear Seaport City Of Bushehr

Iranian youths are sitting together at an outdoor cafe in Bushehr, Iran, on April 28, 2024. This city is notable for being Iran's first nuclear seaport on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf, located 1090km (677 miles) south of Tehran. The Bushehr nuclear power plant, initially contracted with the German company Siemens in 1975, faced construction delays due to the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and subsequent political sanctions. After a long hiatus, Iran partnered with Russia in 2004 to complete the project. The power plant became operational in 2011, marking it as Iran's first and only active nuclear power plant.
