Michelin Guide entered Mexico for the first time, indicating that Mexican cuisine has won more international recognition. The Michelin Guide of Mexico includes Mexico City, Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, Baja California, Baja California Sur and Nuevo Leon. A total of 157 restaurant establishments, ranging from down-to-earth taco joints to cosmopolitan eateries, have been selected for the Michelin Selection list. On the list, 16 restaurants were awarded one Michelin star, and two restaurants from Mexico City were awarded two stars. Michelin three-star restaurants did not appear on the list this time.
