Illinois Is Hit With Cicada Chaos

NO FILM, NO VIDEO, NO TV, NO DOCUMENTARY - Montreal-based audio artist Alex Lane records cicada mating calls from a tree at Lincoln Memorial Garden and Nature Center in Springfield, Illinois, on June 3 2024. Lane and filmmaker Matthew Wolkow identified the calls as coming from what they believe to be the different cicada broods. Cicada chaos is flourishing and flying. Trillions of once-hidden baby bugs are in the air, on the trees and perching upon people’s shirts, hats and even faces. They’re red-eyed, loud and frisky. Photo by E.
