Rome Overwhelmed By Public Works Projects For Jubilee 2025
Construction of a major underground hub is underway in central Piazza Venezia in Rome, Italy on July 2024 to complete Rome’s third metro line, which will connect the city’s two main basilicas, St Peter’s and St John Lateran, and dissect the heart of the art-rich centre. An 85-metre-deep retaining wall has been built around the flagship station in front of the imposing National Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, commonly known as Vittoriano. - Pre-Jubilee public works projects have overwhelmed Rome, with flood-lit construction sites operating around the clock, entire swaths of central boulevards rerouted and traffic snarling the city's already clogged streets.
