Kamala Harris Thrust Into Spotlight As Biden Bows Out
File photo - Emmanuel Macron, France's president, left, greets US Vice President Kamala Harris, right, during a briefing at the NASA headquarters in Washington, DC, US, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022. President Joe Biden will welcome Macron for the first White House state dinner in more than three years on Thursday, setting aside recent tensions with Paris over defense and trade issues to celebrate the oldest US alliance. President Biden announced he was suspending his re-election campaign and putting his faith in Harris. Within hours, the vice-president confirmed her own bid for the White House. “I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic party, and unite our nation, to defeat Donald Trump,” Harris said. “We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win." Photo by Al Drago/Pool/ABACAPRESS.COM
