Mass Fish Die Off In Poland
Members of Territorial Defence Force remove dead fishes from Lake Dzierzno Duze in Rzeczyce, southern Poland on August 20th, 2024. Since the beginning of August, over 115 tons of dead fish have been removed from Lake Dzierzno Duze and the Gliwice Canal. The mass fish die-off is linked with toxic golden algae blooms. The climate ministry oversaw an experiment involving dosing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), a water treatment agent, into the Kłodnica River, which is the main supply of the Gliwice Canal’s water.
