AI guide dog
Photo taken in Shanghai on July 23, 2024, shows a six-legged AI robot, developed by a Shanghai Jiao Tong University research team to replace guide dogs, in trial use. The robot was developed in response to a shortage of guide dogs in China where over 17 million people are visually impaired, while only about 400 such dogs are available. The AI robot can discern traffic signal colors, unlike guide dogs, the research team says.
