An 87-year-old senior citizen is fatally stabbed in the chest inside her residence in the Old Town section of Staten Island, New York, United States, on December 5, 2024. On Thursday evening at approximately 11:31 p.m., police respond to a 911 call of an assault in progress at 33A Carmel Court. Upon arrival, police observe an 87-year-old woman identified as Laxmiben Khristi with a stab wound to the chest. EMS arrives on the scene and transports the victim to Staten Island University North Campus, where she is pronounced dead. One person of interest is taken into custody.
