Recycling Of Electronic And Electrical Waste In Mexico City
A man carries various electronic and electrical waste during a recycling event in the parking lot of the Universum of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City, Mexico, on January 31, 2025. This event, known as Reciclatron, is a program that promotes the correct management, separation, and recycling of electronic and electrical waste among citizens. These types of waste require a special management plan to collect, transport, and utilize their value or manage their final disposal in an environmentally appropriate and controlled manner. Reciclatron 2025 at Universum is organized by the Ministry of the Environment (SEDEMA) in collaboration with universities, mayoral governments, and private initiatives, such as the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC), with the aim of promoting the management, proper use, and reduction of waste.
