Hoshoryu occupies east yokozuna slot

Hoshoryu, who was promoted to sumo's highest rank of yokozuna in January, speaks during a press conference in Osaka on Feb. 25, 2025. Hoshoryu will start life as the 74th yokozuna on the east side as the Japan Sumo Association released its rankings for the upcoming Spring Sumo Tournament in the western Japan city.
