New York State Governor Kathy Hochul issued a state of emergency on Saturday, March 8, as several wind-driven brush fires swept through swathes of Long Island and areas near Brooklyn. The fires burned hundreds of acres and injured two firefighters. This video captures plumes of smoke billowing from a fire near the Belt Parkway by Brooklyn.
