A firefighting helicopter collects water at the Chandrexa de Queixa reservoir to work on fires in the Massif Central, on August 11, 2025, in Chandrexa de Queixa, Ourense, Galicia (Spain). The fires of the summer in Galicia devastate until this August 11 more than 4,000 hectares, with the main fire in Chandrexa de Queixa (Ourense), which already burns 1,600 hectares and remains uncontrolled, with provisional data from the Consellería do Medio Rural. This area is superior to that burned in all of 2024, when there were 2,644.70 hectares, one of the years with less burned land in the last decade. Photo by Rosa Veiga/Europa Press/ABACAPRESS.COM
