Thousands of people marched from Meridian Hill Park to the White House on Saturday, September 6, in the first major protest since President Donald Trump declared a crime emergency and deployed federal troops to Washington, D.C. Organized by groups including Free DC and the ACLU, the “We Are All D.C.” march demanded an end to the federal presence and called for statehood to protect the city’s autonomy.
