Heavy rain hit Juiz de Fora in southeastern Brazil on Wednesday, February 25, causing floods, building collapses, and river overflows.
In the state of Minas Gerais, where Juiz de Fora is located, heavy rain has persisted since Monday, February 23, triggering floods and landslides. So far, at least 40 people have died, 27 are missing, and about 3,600 have been forced to evacuate.
