China: Pregnant Mare Rescued From Deep Ditch in Inner Mongolia

Residents and herders in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, China, rescued a heavily pregnant mare after it fell into a 1.5-meter-deep ditch on April 30. Rescuers secured the animal with wide bandages and used a tractor and forklift to lift her to safety. The operation required repeated adjustments to avoid injuring the mare. She was successfully rescued and walked away from the scene as onlookers watched in relief.
