US: Severe Storms Slam New Jersey, Knocking Down Trees, Power Lines

Severe thunderstorms swept across northern and central New Jersey on Friday, July 3, with wind gusts reaching 70 miles per hour and prompting hazard warnings for damaging winds and hail. The storms knocked out power to more than 185,000 customers and brought down numerous trees and power lines across the region.
