US: Tropical Storm Bertha Pushes Lake Pontchartrain Over Seawall in New Orleans

Storm surge from Tropical Storm Bertha pushed Lake Pontchartrain waters up to the top of the floodwall along the South Shore in New Orleans, Louisiana, with waves splashing over onto Lakeshore Drive near the Mardi Gras Fountain. This video shows water from the lake spilling onto the roadway as Bertha moved through the region. Bertha made landfall Wednesday afternoon, July 22, near the Biloxi Wildlife Management Area in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, with sustained winds of 45 mph, trakcing west along the Louisiana coast.
