A waterspout that formed offshore near the Folly Beach Pier in South Carolina on Saturday, August 1, moved onshore and was confirmed by the National Weather Service as a brief EF-0 tornado. The tornado tossed beach tents, chairs, and umbrellas into the air, though no injuries or structural damage were reported.
