After several tense moments, he reached the cat, secured it, and slowly descended, prompting applause from onlookers. Zhang later said the cat was taken to a temporary foster shelter for care and observation.

As the elevator doors opened, a pet dog entered, but its elderly owner either deliberately stayed behind or failed to get on in time, leaving the dog alone inside as the doors closed.
